Accessibility

Make your shop, office or business environment more accessible with blinput RFID tags. The blinput system will allow its users to navigate indoors using a directional RFID antenna. The users will hear what part of the store they're in and can also scan barcodes or QR-codes on the products, finding information about them from the shop itself or other customers.

Induction loops have been put in place to improve the accessibility for people with hearing impairments, but no such standardised platform is yet provided for people who are blind or partially sighted. Businesses with this system in place would contribute to improve the independence and mobility of the visually impaired.

As of yet, the marketing channels to reach visually impaired people are limited, and rarely of an interactive character. By posting geotagged advertisements, users of Blinput would be able to hear the names of the shops and restaurants they are passing on the street. More detailed information can then be accessed as they pass.

In order to avoid cluttering the channel, as has been done with the internet, users would be able to filter out the advertisements they don't like, or shut them all off.
